The Future of Decontamination Operations --
An Analysis of Decontamination Foam 200
Decontamination FoamCapt. Michael C. Firmin compares the logistical "nightmare" of decontamination procedures using DS2 and STB with the advantages of EasyDECON DF200. Unlike other decontaminates, EasyDECON DF200 is safe to handle for training exercises, so soldiers can gain confidence in decontamination procedures. Capt. Firmin points out that EasyDECON DF200 requires less manpower, needs no engineer support because it creates no hazardous runoff, and is less labor intensive since the foam is simply sprayed on instead of applied with mops. He concludes that with the development of EasyDECON DF200, "the Chemical Corps is headed in the right direction."
